ハイシニアになってから、フローリングの上で後ろ足が滑ってしまっていたまるさん。
７月半ばくらいからそれが顕著になってきたので、急遽、
まるさんがよく歩く場所にシート状のカーペットを敷くことにしました。
Since Maru became senior cat, his back foot had slipped on the floor.
It became obvious from around the middle of July, so I decided to put a sheet-like carpet at the place where he often walks.
水飲み台もそうだけど、これももっと早く対策をしてあげてればよかった。
シニア猫が過ごしやすいように、ゆくゆくは色々と居住環境を変えていかなければ、
とは考えていたものの、まるさんの見た目が若いから、そのうちに～なんて思っているうちに、
対応が遅くなってしまいました。
ペット用の滑らないワックスを買ってあったものの、変にベタベタしたら嫌だなとか、
全面に滑りにくいフロアシートを敷くのは…ちょっと大変そうかなとか、
色々と考えるばかりで実行できていませんでした。

Although I had bought some non-slip wax for pets, I was worried that it might get weirdly sticky, and that laying a non-slip floor sheet over the entire surface would be a bit of a hassle, so I just kept thinking about it and never put it into practice.

Maru was cute walking slowly on the carpet.
フローリングの上を、シャーっと勢いよくおもちゃを滑らせると、走って追いかける。
この遊びは、まるさんも、はなもみりも大好きだったのですが、絨毯を敷くとそれができない。
それにおもちゃを転がしても、前みたいには転がらない。
どうしようかと考えて、まるさんがいなくなってしまった後、一回全部絨毯を取りました。
そうしたら、フローリングの上でみりが走ってすってんころりん。
またすぐに元に戻しました。
今のままだと見た目がいまいちなのですが、とりあえずこのまま敷いておいて、ゆっくり考えます。
When I slide a toy vigorously across the floor, the cats run after it.
Maru, Hana and Miri all loved this game, but they couldn’t do it on the carpet.
Also, when I roll toys, they don’t roll on the carpet like they used to.
I thought about what to do, and after Maru had left, I removed all the carpets.
Then Miri started running around on the flooring and slipped and fell over.
I quickly put them back in place.
It doesn’t look very nice the way it is now, but I’ll leave it as it is for now and think about it carefully.
