朝、同居人が起きた時のまるさん。
Maru when his housemates woke up in the morning.
まる：「寝坊助がやっと起きましたね。」
Maru:[Good morning, sleepyhead!]
まるさんはだいたい朝の４時くらいから起きてうろちょろして、盛大に爪とぎしたり、
キッチンで鍋の蓋をガシャガシャ鳴らしたり、寝ている者たちを起こそうとする。
でもそれで起きたら執拗なご飯の催促が待ち構えているので、こちらも必死に寝たふりをしてやり過ごす。
Maru usually gets up at 4:00 in the morning and makes various noises to wake up the sleeper. But when I wake up, Maru’s persistent urging for breakfast begins.
So I continue to frantically pretend to sleep.
そして６時くらいに人が本格的に起きると、まるさんも本格的に始動開始！
And when I wake up around 6:00, Maru starts his day in earnest.
真剣な顔でおトイレを済ませ
Maru goes to the cat litter box with a serious face.
真面目くさった顔で爪とぎ。
Then he scratches his nails with a serious face.
まる：「よし、これで朝ごはんを食べる準備は万端ですよ。」
Maru:[It’s OK. Now I’m all set for eating breakfast.]
はなも、人が起きるとすぐに活動を開始する。
Hana, too, gets up and starts her activities as soon as I get up.
はな：「寝起き１秒で朝ごはんが食べられます。」
Hana:[I can eat breakfast within 1 second of waking up.]
一番のお寝坊さんはみり！
人が起きて色々な準備を始めても、まるはながごはんの催促をしていても、
ソファの上でのんびりとまどろんでいる。そして猫ご飯の準備が完全に整った時に、
やっと起きてくることも多い。
And Miri has a hard time getting up in the morning.
Miri sleeps on the couch, even when people wake up and start doing all the preparations, even when the Maru&Hana are pressing for breakfast.
And she often only wakes up when the cat’s breakfast is completely ready.
みり：「寝る子は育つの！」
Miri:[Sleep brings up a child well!]
夜中や早朝にうろちょろしているまるさんにつられて、みりもたまにうろちょろすることがあるけど、そういう時はなかなか朝起きられないみり。
一方のまるさんは、夜中もうろちょろして、早朝もうろちょろしていることも多々あるけど、
朝もシャキッと起きてる。なんか色々すごいまるさん。
Maru often wakes up in the middle of the night or early in the morning. And Miri sometimes wakes up with him. At such times, Miri has difficulty getting up in the morning. But Maru’s also awake in the morning, although he’s often up late at night and early in the morning.
