Japanese macaque:[Bang!]
サルに脅かされても一歩も引かないまるさん。
Maru is unfazed when threatened by the Japanese macaques.
サル：「もしかして固まってる？ やっぱこれタヌキか？」
Japanese macaque:[Are you frozen? Are you a raccoon dog?]
お庭でやりたい放題なおサルさんたち。
おサルさんが近づいてくるとだいたい鳴き声でわかるので、まるさんたちが庭に出ていたら、中に入れます。今まで危険な目に遭ったことはないのですが、おサルさんのうんちだけは困りもの。
Japanese macaques can do whatever they want in the garden.
I can tell when they’re approaching by their cry.
So if the cats are out in the yard, I rush them inside the house.
We have never been in danger by Japanese macaques.
But their poop is a bit of a problem.
そしてとうとう、おサルさんにシャー！しちゃったまるさん。
And Maru finally hissed at the Japanese macaque.
まる：「え、わたくしシャーって言いました？」
Maru:[Really? Did I really say hiss?]
間違いなく、言ってましたね。
めったにシャーとか言わないまるさんですが、動物病院ではずっとシャーシャー言ってる。
Yes, you definitely said hiss.
Maru rarely hisses, but at the veterinary hospital he hisses all the time.
はなも、一応は応戦するものの、驚かされるとビックリして逃げちゃう。
Hana tries to confront the Japanese macaque, but when the macaque threatens her, she escapes.
みりは、以前は庭でサルが騒ぐと洗面所にこもって食欲も落ちてしまうほどだったけれど、
最近はそこまで怖がらなくなりました。ただ、近づいたりはしない。
Miri used to run to the washroom and lose her appetite when Japanese macaques made noise in the garden.
These days, she’s not that frightened. But she never approaches the Japanese macaque.
みり：「仲良くはできそうにない。」
Miri:[I can’t be friends with them.]
