お耳が痒いまるさんには申し訳ないけれど、大きな肉まんで頭を洗うまるさんが可愛すぎる。
I’m sorry for Maru itchy ears, but he’s so cute when he’s washing his head with meat buns.
耳掃除に使っている液体は、もうずっとこれ。
使い方を見ると、液体を直接耳に注いで揉み込む、と書いてあってちょっと衝撃を受ける。
最初の頃はその通りにやろうとしていたけれど、耳に注ぐとすぐさま激しく頭をプルプルされ、
液体が著しく飛び散るので、断念。その後は、太めの綿棒にたっぷりと染み込ませて、
拭うようにしています。
I use this cleaning solution when cleaning their ears.
Looking at this usage, it says to pour this liquid into a cat’s ear and rub it well.
At first, I tried to do exactly that.
But when I pour liquid into their ears, cats immediately shake their heads violently and the liquid splatters. So I gave up on that approach.
From then on, I soak the liquid generously into a thick cotton swab and wipe the cat’s ears clean.
耳掃除だけは好きなはな。
チビの頃は耳が汚れやすくて、耳ダニでもいるのかもと病院に連れて行ったこともあるけど、
年齢が上がるとともに汚れも落ち着いてきた。若い頃は新陳代謝が活発だからかな？
と思っていたら、

I used to think it was because cats had an active metabolism when they were young.
最近はまるさんの耳が汚れやすい。
そしてみりはほとんど汚れないから、年齢はあまり関係ないらしい。
But these days Maru’s ears get dirty easily. And Miri’s ears hardly get dirty.
Therefore, there does not seem to be any relationship between ear dirtiness and age.
