夕食後にソファで寛いでいると、だいたいはなが膝の上で寝ています。
先日、いつものようにはなが膝の上で寝ていると、2階から下りてくる足音が聞こえてきました。
その時2階にいたのはみりだけだったので、みりが降りてくるんだな、としか思わなかったのですが、膝の上のはなが何かに驚いたみたいに急に起き上がり、首を伸ばして目をまん丸くして、
足音が聞こえてくる階段の方をじーーーっと見ていました。
みりが1階に着いて、ソファの前までやってきてはながその姿を見たら、ああ、と落ち着きました。
特に変な音ではなく、普通にみりが階段を降りてくる足音だったのですが、
もしかしたら体が大きくなってきて、まるさんの足音に似ていたのかも？
とちょっと思った出来事でした。
When I relax on the sofa after dinner, Hana is usually sleeping on my lap.
The other day, when Hana was sleeping on my lap as usual, I heard the footsteps of someone coming down from the second floor.
At that time, Miri was the only one on the second floor, so all I could think was that Miri was coming down.
However, Hana on my lap suddenly sat up as if it had been startled by something, craned her neck, rolled her eyes, and stared in the direction of the stairs where footsteps could be heard.
When Miri arrived on the first floor and came to the sofa and Hana saw her, she finally calmed down.
It wasn’t a particularly strange sound, it was just the footsteps of Miri coming down the stairs, but maybe Miri’s body was getting bigger and the sound was similar to Maru’s footsteps? It was an incident that made me think so.
いつも小走りのはなは、階段を下りる足音が一番大きく、速い。
ドコドコドコドコ！ って感じ。
Hana, who always trotting, has the loudest and fastest footsteps when she goes down the stairs.
まるさんは一段一段ゆっくりと降りてくる。トコ、トコ、トコ。
Maru slowly descends step by step.

みりも大きくなって落ち着いてきて、まるさんと似た足音になってきたのかも。
Miri has grown bigger and calmed down, and its footsteps may be similar to Maru.
はなに時々、まるさんのこと覚えてる？ って聞くんですけど、はなはキョトンとしていて。
でも音とか匂いとか、そういったものに瞬時に体が反応してしまうくらいに、
まるさんの存在ははなの中に残っているのかもしれません。
I sometimes ask Hana, “Do you remember Maru?”, but Hana doesn’t react at all.
But perhaps the presence of Maru remains within Hana, to the extent that her body
instantly react to things like sounds and smells.
