まる：「ご飯の量がいつもより少なかった気がします。」
Maru:[Well, I think my cat food was less than usual.]

はな：「特になにも思い当たらないけど？」
Hana:[I don’t know at all.]
とか言いつつ、みりがよくいるソファの上とかチェックしているはな。
But Hana was checking on the sofa where Kitten Miri slept well.
はな：「なんかやけに静かね。」
Hana:[It’s very quiet.]
はな：「ほんとはどっかに隠れてるんでしょ？」
Hana:[Is the kitten hiding somewhere?]
はな：「高いところからよく見てるんだからね！」
Hana:[I watch from a high place!]
みりが一泊で避妊手術の日、鳴いて探したりはしないけれど、
みりがよくいるソファの上とかのぞいてみたり、キョロキョロしていたはな。
その一方で、この方はいつもと何一つ変わりなく。
On the day of Miri’s spayed operation, Hana seemed to be looking for her a little.
But Maru didn’t change anything.
まる：「お昼寝するんで夕ご飯になったら起こしてください。」
Maru:[I’m going to take a nap, so please wake me up at dinner time.]
朝１０時に動物病院に預けて、たぶん手術は午後の時間帯。
行きの車の中でもずっと鳴いていたので、一晩中鳴き続けて帰ってくるときは声が枯れてるかも…。
なんてことを、いつもより静かな家の中で考える。
Kitten Miri was meowing all the time in the car, and it might go on all night. So when she comes back, her voice may be hoarse.
I think about that kind of thing in a quieter house than usual.
